Fat recovery from industrial wastewater as biofuel
How It Works – ecoFLOAT non checmical
ecoFLOAT employs a unique aeration process that creates fine bubbles, which attach to suspended solids in the wastewater. These bubbles cause the solids to float to the surface, forming a sludge layer that is easily removed using hydraulic pressure. The clarified water can then be reused, treated or discharged, significantly reducing the environmental footprint of your operations.
Non-Chemical DAF (ecoFLOAT)
Process:
- Microbubble Generation: ecoFLOAT uses advanced aeration technology to create microbubbles through air dispersion without the need for chemical additives.
- Bubble Attachment: Microbubbles naturally attach to suspended solids in the wastewater.
- Floatation: The buoyant microbubbles lift the suspended solids to the surface, forming a sludge layer.
- Hydraulic Sludge Removal: A hydraulic system gently floats off the sludge layer for disposal or recovery.
- Clarified Water: The treated water, now free of most suspended solids, is discharged, treated or reused.
Why ecoFLOAT?
ecoFLOAT uses physical separation vs chemical separation – therefore we do not require a large dam to equalize and keep the water at a constant pH. The benefit of physical separation is that it is often a simpler and more cost-effective method than chemical separation. Physical separation methods require less equipment and fewer chemicals, which can result in lower capital and operating costs for businesses. Additionally, physical separation can be more environmentally friendly, as it does not involve the use of chemicals that could potentially harm the environment.
The benefits of using ecoFLOAT include:
- Exponentially reduce COD and nitrogen levels
- Improve wastewater quality
- Prevent particles, FOG, manure, and other suspended solids from ending up in the municipal sewer
- Eliminate the need for a large buffer dam used in chemical water treatment
- Reduce the total effluent treatment cost
- Eliminate a chemical bill
- Eliminate the need for disposing of large quantities of sludge in a lawful manner.
- Defatted protein rich sludge can then be reused or can otherwise be disposed of in waste skips.
